Quality and Strength

Handmade in Idaho from 100% recycled climbing rope and dog safe Tuff Ball® tennis balls, Chews On Belay tuff dog toys are durable and provide tons of entertainment for your pet.

Our toys are some of the toughest and most rugged on the market. If your dog tends to destroy toys, give ours a try. We cannot guarantee they are indestructible, but will award the "Tougher than Belay" award to any pup that proves us wrong!

Rigorous Testing

Each toy is "Lab(rador) test - Taz approved" for its strength and fun factor. All tuff dog toys are machine washed with non chemical soap to rid it of any dirt it picked up as it's life as a climbing rope.

Custom Designs and Creations

We hand make all tuff dog toys with the constant supervision of our product tester Taz, so when ordering please allow 5-7days for your toy to be crafted, tested and shipped.

Our Story

Gwen, Jess & Cook - Rescued Inspiration

Jess and I got married in 2011 and wanted to "start a family" right away. We searched high and low on the internet and in shelters for the perfect dog. While there were so many good dogs out there, we didn't quite find the right fit. After a late night of searching on Petfinder.com, on one of the last pages, this little face popped up on the screen and I knew we had to meet him.

I went down to the shelter with the intention of only meeting the dog. (Yeah right!) After that little ball of fur and cuteness walked in the door I knew he was our perfect dog! It was love at first sight! We named him Cook

Realizing we needed a lot of dog toys to entertain, teach and play with, Chews on Belay was born. Being being avid rock climbers, we had more than enough climbing ropes around the house, and a few tuff balls we had bought earlier, I took it as a sign I needed to use them. Cook has been the inspiration behind everything in my store.

Sadly, Cook's story ended way too soon. In the fall of 2019, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and in two short weeks he crossed the rainbow bridge. Our lives are never complete without our four-legged friends, so in December 2019 it was time to rescue another fur pal and we welcomed new puppy Taz into our lives.

Taz has his own personality and unique characteristics, but brings the same level of quality control that his older brother Cook established for each and every one of our tuff dog toys.
